One killed, seven injured in Russian drone strike on Kramatorsk

A Russian drone strike hit central Kramatorsk on 16 August, killing one person and injuring seven civilians. A post office building in the city was also damaged.

Russian forces struck the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast on 16 August using a Geran-2 attack drone, according to the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office and Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration.

The strike occurred at around 15:57 local time and hit a civilian business in the city centre. A 19-year-old employee of the business was killed in the explosion.

Seven civilians aged between 23 and 42 were injured, sustaining wounds of varying severity, including blast injuries, shrapnel wounds and concussion.

Filashkin also reported that Russian forces hit a post office building in Kramatorsk, causing damage to the structure. Authorities are still gathering information on the full extent of the strike's aftermath.
