Gasoline runs out entirely in Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik, Russia

On August 21, gasoline supplies were depleted at every filling station in the southern Russian resort city of Gelendzhik, including the last operating station in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka. The nearby city of Tuapse is facing a similar shortage.

In the Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik in southern Russia, only a single gas station was still selling gasoline on the morning of August 21 — a Lukoil station located in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka. All other stations in the city had only diesel fuel available, according to the city administration.

By that evening, however, gasoline had run out at the Arkhipo-Osipovka station as well. The shortage was confirmed by the independent Russian investigative outlet iStories, which spoke with a clerk at a small hotel next to the station. Local drivers reported the same situation in a chat group they use to track fuel availability in the area.

Shortage extends to Tuapse

A comparable fuel crisis was reported in the nearby city of Tuapse. Of the 14 gas stations operating there on the morning of August 21, only one was selling 95-octane gasoline, while two others offered 92-octane fuel.

The shortages point to a broader supply disruption affecting resort areas along Russia's southern Black Sea coast, coming during the peak summer travel season when demand from both residents and tourists is high.
