One killed, several injured in Russian night attack on Izmail district
Russian occupying forces struck Ukraine's Izmail district in Odesa region overnight, killing one person and injuring others, while damaging transport infrastructure.
Overnight into August 29, Russian occupying forces attacked the Izmail district of Ukraine's Odesa region. The strike killed one person and left several others injured, according to the Izmail District State Administration.
Local authorities confirmed that transport infrastructure facilities were damaged in the attack. Emergency services, security forces and medics remained at the impact sites, working to deal with the aftermath and assist those affected.
Context
The attack on Izmail district followed a Russian strike a day earlier, on August 28, on a hardware supermarket in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. That strike killed a 17-year-old boy and injured seven other people.
Both incidents point to continuing Russian strikes on Ukrainian civilian and infrastructure targets far from the front line.
