In the Russian-occupied city of Berdiansk, occupation authorities have handed down a harsh sentence to a local pensioner who provided financial support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A court sentenced the woman to 14 years in prison.
The reason for the conviction was a relatively small money transfer — the pensioner had sent 1,500 hryvnias, equivalent to about €29, to support the Ukrainian military.
The case illustrates the practice of Russian occupation authorities in occupied Ukrainian territories, where even minimal support for Ukraine's army or state institutions is met with severe criminal punishment.
