Chief engineer of Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant killed in Ukrainian drone strike, Rosatom says

The head of Russia's state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, has stated that Alexander Yakovlev, the chief engineer of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, was killed in a Ukrainian drone strike. According to Likhachev, the drone struck Yakovlev's official vehicle "at the boundary between the plant's industrial site and the city of Enerhodar." The driver was also killed.
Likhachev expressed expectation that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would respond promptly, concretely, and clearly to this tragedy. He also noted that Russia's political leadership had been informed of the incident.
The Ukrainian armed forces have not commented on the event.
Background
The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been under Russian control since March 2022.
