Russian missile strike hits Kyiv, four injured including a child

A Russian missile strike damaged buildings in two districts of Kyiv, injuring at least four people, including a 10-year-old girl. The attack followed a nationwide air raid alert.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that Russia carried out a missile strike on the Ukrainian capital overnight into September 17, damaging buildings in several districts of the city. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration's social media statements, at least four people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl. All those affected are receiving necessary medical assistance.

Damage across several districts

According to preliminary information from the mayor, debris fell at several locations in the Dniprovskyi district, damaging an office building and a residential building. Debris also fell on warehouse premises and near a gas station. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a non-residential building was reportedly hit. In the Solomianskyi district, a warehouse facility was damaged, according to preliminary reports.

Preceded by a nationwide alert

The strike followed a Russian ballistic missile attack on Ukraine overnight into September 17, during which a large-scale air raid alert was declared across the entire country.
