Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a Russian attack on the morning of 30 August struck a two-storey non-residential building in the capital's Holosiivskyi district, setting it on fire.
According to Ukraine's State Emergency Service, debris from a downed aerial target also caused the roof of another non-residential building in the same district to catch fire. Rescue crews have been responding to the aftermath of attacks across several districts of Kyiv since the previous night, and firefighters were still extinguishing blazes at multiple sites as of Sunday morning.
Previous day's attacks
On the afternoon of 29 August, a Russian drone struck a non-residential area in Kyiv's Podilskyi district, while another drone came down in the Obolonskyi district, damaging a café and killing a two-year-old girl; several other people were injured. The total number of people hurt in Kyiv's drone attacks on 29 August later climbed to eight. A non-residential building in the capital was struck again during the day. That evening, falling drone debris also sparked a fire at a house in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district.
