Russian forces intensify guided bomb strikes on Sumy outskirts; 10 civilians injured
The Russian military has intensified attacks with guided aerial bombs (KAB) near Sumy over recent days, injuring 10 civilians in the past 24 hours, according to the Sumy regional administration.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration (OVA) reports an increase in Russian strikes using guided aerial bombs on the outskirts of the regional center. Head of the OVA Oleh Hryhorov stated that there has been a notable rise in the intensity of air attacks, particularly with guided bombs, in recent days.
According to Hryhorov, drone attacks on communities in Sumy region are also ongoing, targeting border areas and other settlements. In Sumy city, around 4:00 p.m., a guided bomb strike killed one civilian man and injured five others. Among the injured is a woman with a three-year-old child; the mother shielded the child, who suffered a limb injury. The child received medical assistance and will be treated at home.
Another woman was injured during a drone attack in Sumy community when a drone was shot down while she was in an open area. In Trostianets community, a Russian drone struck a vehicle, injuring two women. In Znob-Novhorodske community, a drone hit a civilian car, wounding the driver. In Velyka Pysarivka community, a drone dropped explosives, injuring a local resident who was hospitalized.
In total, 10 civilians have been injured in Russian attacks over the past day, the regional administration emphasized.
