Russian forces have struck a civilian cargo ship flying the Liberian flag while it was in a port in Ukraine's Odesa Oblast, leaving one crew member dead and three others wounded.
According to Ukraine's Sea Ports Authority, a motorman serving on the vessel was killed in the strike. Three additional crew members sustained injuries.
In total, 13 crew members were evacuated from the ship to a safe location following the attack.
The Sea Ports Authority characterized the strike as yet another instance of Russia targeting civilian shipping vessels, pointing to a pattern of attacks on merchant ships docked at ports in the Odesa region.
