Russia's Strike in Sloviansk Damages Latvia's Honorary Consulate Building

The Russian military carried out an attack on Sloviansk in the Donetsk region, damaging the building of Latvia's honorary consulate. This was confirmed by Latvian public media and Foreign Minister Baiba Braže, who expressed indignation on social media.
The attack damaged at least ten private houses, several enterprise buildings, and the premises of Latvia's honorary consulate. Fortunately, Latvia's Honorary Consul Oleksandr Pavenko was not injured. Braže stated that she has informed EU and NATO ministers and international organizations.
Latvia's honorary consulate in Sloviansk was opened in April 2021. It was evacuated in February 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but resumed operations in December 2022.
Minister Braže emphasized that Russia can destroy buildings but cannot break Ukraine's will and Latvia's support.
