Injured toll from Russian strikes on Sumy climbs to 23, two dead
The number of people injured in Russian guided bomb strikes on Sumy has risen to 23, including four children, while two people were killed.
Russian forces struck multiple locations across the Sumy hromada with guided aerial bombs, and the number of casualties continues to grow. According to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration, 23 people have now been reported injured, including four children.
Two people died in a strike that hit a residential area. Three girls — aged 14, eight, and 11 months — have been hospitalised, along with two adults.
Damage to infrastructure
The strikes damaged dozens of apartment buildings, a private house, a cultural institution, two preschools, several office buildings, and more than 20 vehicles.
Earlier reports had put the toll at two dead and six injured, including an 11-month-old child; those figures have since been revised upward as more information emerged.
