Russian strikes on Sumy kill two, injured toll rises to 23
A Russian guided bomb attack on Sumy has killed two people and injured 23, including four children, with residential buildings, schools and a cultural facility damaged.
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration, reported that the number of people injured in Russia's guided bomb strikes on Sumy has risen to 23, including four children. Russian forces struck several locations across the Sumy community using guided aerial bombs (KABs).
Casualties
Two people were killed when the strike hit a residential area. Three children were hospitalized: girls aged 14 and 8, along with an 11-month-old infant girl. Two adults were also hospitalized. Earlier reports had indicated two people killed and six injured, including the 11-month-old child, with the total injured count now updated to 23.
Damage
The strikes damaged dozens of apartment buildings and a private house, a cultural institution, two preschool education facilities, administrative buildings, and more than 20 vehicles. Local authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
