Lethal Russian strikes hit residential area in Kyiv
Overnight Russian strikes hit a residential area in Kyiv, killing a child and injuring several people. Infrastructure, houses and vehicles were also damaged.
Russian forces struck a residential area in Kyiv overnight, leaving several people dead and injured, according to local authorities.
Kyiv's regional governor, Tymur Tkachenko, wrote on Telegram that the attack involved both a Russian missile and a drone strike. A child was killed in the strikes, while three more people were injured.
Infrastructure damaged
Tkachenko said the attack also damaged infrastructure facilities, houses, warehouses and cars across the affected area. The full extent of the damage has not yet been detailed.
The strike is part of Russia's ongoing campaign of aerial attacks against Ukrainian civilian and infrastructure targets, which continues more than three years into the full-scale war.
