Russian forces launched an attack on Kherson on the night of July 17-18, completely destroying one of the city's key heating supply facilities. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, stated that the site had been shelled more than a thousand times prior to this attack. The facility supplied heat to nearly 500 residential buildings in Kherson.

Prokudin noted that the occupiers had deliberately targeted the facility previously, causing heavy damage, and the latest strike effectively finished off what remained. The overnight strikes completely destroyed critical components, rendering the facility inoperable and beyond repair. Despite its complete ruin, Russian forces continue to attack the site with all types of weapons.

This incident highlights Russia's ongoing tactics of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, which severely impacts the daily lives of Kherson's residents. The loss of the heating facility is expected to create serious challenges for thousands of people, especially as winter approaches.
