Russian forces have been attacking Ukraine's Kyiv region for more than 24 hours, damaging 31 sites across five districts, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the region's military administration.

Four people were killed in the strikes: three children and a woman. Tkachenko did not specify where exactly the deaths occurred, but said one child was wounded in a strike on the Vyshhorod district on the evening of September 19.

Ukraine's Interior Ministry gave a somewhat different toll, reporting three deaths in the region, two of them children, along with damage to a private home. The ministry did not specify a location.

Fastiv district hit hardest

Tkachenko said the Fastiv district sustained the heaviest damage, with 24 sites struck there, including residential buildings, industrial and utility structures, the grounds of an agricultural business, and 17 vehicles.

The Obukhiv, Brovary, and Bucha districts were also affected. According to Tkachenko, the strikes were still ongoing at the time of his statement.
