Russian forces struck a railway station platform in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Thursday, killing at least 14 people. The attack came during Russia's war against Ukraine, and its victims were civilians waiting for a train. Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov described the strike as an act "of genocidal war."

Ukraine's State Emergency Service, the country's rescue and civil protection agency, said a drone was sent directly at the platform, where many people were waiting. By the time of its statement, 14 deaths had been confirmed and at least 14 other people had been wounded.

Attacks on other cities

The service's report said Russian strikes also hit civilians elsewhere in the country. In Kremenchuk, a city in central Ukraine, three people were killed and another 15 were injured in residential districts.

In the center of Chernihiv, in northern Ukraine, two children died and 23 people were injured. Among the wounded is a 10-month-old girl.

According to the emergency service, houses, shops and cars were also damaged in the attacks. The source does not say how Russia responded to these reports, nor does it give details of further rescue work or possible changes to the casualty figures.
