Russian strike on central Kharkiv: one dead, eight injured, including children

On July 17, Russian forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, killing one man and injuring eight people, including two boys aged 7 and 2.

On the evening of July 17, Russian forces launched a strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district in Kharkiv, resulting in one fatality and eight injuries, among them two children – boys aged 7 and 2. The information was reported by Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Syniehubov stated that, sadly, one man was killed as a result of the enemy strike on Kharkiv's Shevchenkivskyi district. Terekhov reported that the Russians hit the city center, damaging residential buildings. Initially, the mayor said ten people had been injured, at least a third of them children, but later clarified based on preliminary reports that eight people were injured, including two children.

Syniehubov initially reported four injured: boys aged 2 and 7, and men aged 24 and 50. He later confirmed that eight people had been affected in total.

Additionally, on July 17, Russian forces struck Izium in Kharkiv Oblast with a guided aerial bomb, injuring three children and a 40-year-old man.
