A Russian strike destroyed a warehouse belonging to the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Friday, 7 August, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on X.

According to Ghebreyesus, no casualties have been reported so far. A WHO staff member and drivers had been present at the site earlier that day, helping to evacuate stored supplies. The team managed to move out around 130 of approximately 300 pallets before leaving the area, shortly before the strike hit.

What the warehouse held

The facility stored humanitarian medical supplies destined for healthcare facilities operating in the combat zone, most of it WHO stock meant for emergency medical care.

Ghebreyesus called for attacks on healthcare facilities to stop.
