Russian forces carried out a fresh strike on Kyiv overnight into July 8, as Ukraine’s military responded with a wave of attacks on Russian oil infrastructure.

Ukrainian Drone Attacks

Ukrainian drones hit so-called shadow fleet tankers in the Sea of Azov, an industrial zone in Nizhnekamsk housing two oil refineries, as well as refineries in Saratov and Ufa. A military airfield in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh region, was also targeted.

Casualties in Kyiv

The Kyiv strike resulted in one fatality and at least eight injuries. Meduza compiled footage of the night’s attacks on Russian cities, capturing the scale of the strikes.

These events highlight the ongoing escalation, with both sides intensifying strikes on each other’s infrastructure.
