Russian strike on Sumy: children among wounded, shopping mall on fire
An evening attack on Sumy by Russian forces using a drone hit a residential building, injuring two adults and four children, followed by two more strikes that sparked a large fire at a shopping center.

Russian troops launched an attack on the city of Sumy on the evening of July 20, causing damage to a residential building and a shopping mall. According to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, the first strike was carried out by a Russian rocket-propelled drone near a multi-story apartment building. The attack left two adults and four children wounded. Medical assistance was provided to an 8-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, whose injuries are not severe. The condition of the other victims has not been specified.
Following the initial strike, the Russian army continued its assault with two more strikes in the same area of the city. One of these strikes triggered a large fire on the premises of a shopping center. Information about possible additional casualties is currently being clarified.
This incident highlights the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which frequently result in casualties among the civilian population.
