Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia, a city in southeastern Ukraine, on 26 October 2026, during Russia's full-scale war against the country. The attack left people injured, damaged private homes and started a fire at one of the impact sites.

The information was published on social media by Mykhailo Semikin, acting head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration. He said: "As a result of the attack, private houses, cars and a commercial building were damaged. A fire broke out at the site of one of the strikes."

Casualties

According to Semikin, a 30-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man were wounded. Both are receiving the necessary medical assistance. No further details on their condition were given.

What is still unclear

The official added that the consequences of the enemy attack are still being established. This means the number of victims and the scale of the damage could change as work at the scenes continues and data is gathered.

The source does not say what weapons were used, which parts of the city were hit or how many buildings in total were affected. It also gives no information on how the fire was extinguished. These questions remain open until local authorities publish further official updates.
