Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia: 3 killed, 33 injured, people trapped under rubble

On the evening of July 19, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs, killing three people and injuring 33, including five children. Two people remain trapped under the rubble of a multi-storey building.

Aftermath of the attack

Russian troops launched a strike on Zaporizhzhia on the evening of July 19, using guided aerial bombs. Initially, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, reported one person killed and three injured, but later updated the figures.

In total, three people were killed, including a woman whose body was recovered from the rubble by rescuers. The number of injured rose to 33, among them five children. Two people—a woman and a child—are still trapped under the debris of a multi-storey building.

Destruction

The residential area suffered significant damage. A five-storey building was severely damaged, with two floors destroyed. A nearby nine-storey building had its windows and balconies damaged. A logistics operator's terminal is on fire. Rescue operations are ongoing.
