Russian occupying forces struck border infrastructure in the Izmail district of Ukraine's Odesa region, causing the Orlivka ferry crossing point on the border with Romania to suspend operations.

The Izmail district state administration reported the strike on social media but did not disclose details about its consequences. The statement said only that the Orlivka crossing had temporarily halted operations due to the attack.

Local authorities said further information would be provided once the crossing resumes work.

Not the first disruption

This is not the first such incident in recent days. On the night before September 1, Russian Shahed-type attack drones struck the international Orlivka ferry crossing, forcing it to stop operating. Service was restored two days later, on Wednesday, September 2.

The Orlivka crossing is one of the key transit points between Ukraine and Romania in the southern part of Odesa region, and disruptions to its operation affect both cargo and passenger movement between the two countries.
