Russian armed forces attacked a shopping center in Ukraine's Sumy region, killing two people, as part of the ongoing Russian military campaign against Ukrainian territory.

At the same time, Ukrainian drones struck Makhachkala in southern Russia, damaging the city's sea port. Ukrainian military officials stated this was the deepest strike carried out by Ukraine on Russian territory since the start of the war.

Missile shortage amid drone threats

Ukraine reports it may soon run low on missiles used by F-16 fighter jets to shoot down Russian jet-powered drones. This situation poses an additional risk to Ukraine's air defense capabilities as Russia continues mass drone and missile attacks.

The developments show the war continuing to expand both territorially and in intensity — Ukraine is able to reach increasingly distant targets inside Russia, while Russia continues its attacks on Ukrainian populated areas and civilian infrastructure.
