One killed, five injured in Russian strikes on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast's Nikopol district

A Russian attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on 9 August killed one person and injured five, with damage reported across several districts amid nearly 40 strikes using drones, artillery and aerial bombs.

One person was killed and five others were injured after Russian forces struck Dnipropetrovsk Oblast's Nikopol district on 9 August, regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha reported. He said Russian forces hit four districts of the region close to 40 times over the day, using drones, artillery and aerial bombs.

Damage in Nikopol district

In Nikopol district, strikes hit the city of Nikopol itself along with the Marhanets and Pokrovske hromadas. Residential houses, a five-storey building, an outbuilding, a garage, a car and a bus sustained damage. One person died and five were injured, including a 36-year-old man who was hospitalised in moderate condition.

Wider damage across the region

In Synelnykove district, Russian forces struck Synelnykove city and the Mykolaiv and Vasylkiv hromadas, damaging around a dozen houses and vehicles. Infrastructure was also damaged in the Zelenodolsk hromada of Kryvyi Rih district. In Pavlohrad, a warehouse on the grounds of a food company caught fire, and another fire broke out in the Verbkivska hromada.
