Russian strikes on Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv region kill one, injure 11

Russian forces launched a series of drone and aerial bomb attacks on Ukraine's capital Kyiv, as well as on Zaporizhzhia and the Kharkiv region, starting on the evening of September 22, according to Ukrainian officials.

Strikes on Kyiv

Multiple districts of Kyiv came under attack. In the Solomianskyi district, a fire broke out at a transportation company's facility. In the Holosiivskyi district, a warehouse caught fire and a drone hit a gas station. In the Darnytskyi district, the roof of another gas station caught fire after being struck, and a drone also hit a transportation facility. Preliminary reports say one person was injured in the capital.

Zaporizhzhia and the Kharkiv region

A Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia set fire to a shopping mall in the city; images of the blaze appear to show the Amstor mall. Two people were injured there.

In the Kharkiv region, Russian forces hit the city of Izium with aerial bombs, damaging apartment buildings and sparking a fire at the site. Eight people, including a child, were injured.

Later that evening, Russian drones repeatedly struck vehicles in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district, killing one person.

In total, the attacks across the three regions left one person dead and at least 11 injured.
