Russian strike sets shopping centre ablaze in Dnipro, three injured

A shopping centre named Novyi Kontynent in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro caught fire on Saturday following a Russian attack, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration.
Initial reports mentioned two people injured, but the toll later rose to three. Hanzha specified that among the injured are a 59-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, both hospitalised in moderately serious condition.
Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov shared photographs on Facebook showing that the shopping centre had burned down entirely. The images depicted the damaged building and the surrounding area affected by the strike.
The updated casualty figure of three injured was confirmed at around 20:02 local time. Local officials' statements did not provide further detail on the exact circumstances of how the strike triggered the fire or the specific type of weapon used.
Russian forces continue to carry out regular attacks on Ukrainian cities, including Dnipro, a major industrial and logistics hub in the central part of the country. Local authorities are continuing to assess the damage and the condition of those affected.
