Man, 66, and 8-year-old girl hurt in Russian strike on Hostomel in Kyiv region

Russian forces carried out an attack on the town of Hostomel in Kyiv Oblast on 2 October, injuring two local residents and triggering a fire at a warehouse and production premises.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, reported the incident. According to him, a 66-year-old man suffered burns to his body along with a closed abdominal injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The second victim, an 8-year-old girl, sustained a shrapnel wound to one of her legs.
Tkachenko said firefighters were still working to put out the blaze that broke out at the warehouse and production facilities as a result of the strike. Further details on the extent of the damage and the progress of the firefighting effort have not yet been released.
The attack is part of continued Russian military action that regularly affects populated areas and civilian infrastructure across Kyiv Oblast.
