On the afternoon of 11 July, Russian troops launched an attack on the Zarichnyi district of Sumy, using three guided aerial bombs that hit civilian infrastructure. The strike killed four people, including a 13-year-old girl who was at a public transport stop, and injured 17 others, three of whom are in serious condition.

Initially, Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration, reported seven injured, but later updated the number to 17. Rescue operations are ongoing, and authorities urge residents to stay in safe places and avoid the strike sites due to the threat of repeated attacks.

Two bombs were dropped on a densely populated area, with a road and a public transport stop at the epicenter of one strike. The third bomb targeted an infrastructure facility. The attack damaged a car dealership, a petrol station, a restaurant, apartment blocks, and vehicles.

Separately, in Kharkiv, a Russian drone struck a civilian enterprise, injuring seven people.
