Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, gave an initial update shortly after the attack. He said one person had died and another was believed to be trapped under the rubble. Fedorov described the strike as hitting a residential section of the regional centre and said the necessary emergency services were working at the scene.
In a later update, Fedorov said two people were receiving medical treatment for shock. At 17:16, he reported that one person had been pulled from beneath the debris and was being taken to hospital.
The authorities did not immediately release the identities of the victims or provide an exact assessment of the damage. The updates also did not specify the condition of the two people being treated for shock. The regional administration noted that the weapon used was a guided aerial bomb, and the affected area was in a populated part of the city.
