The Russian Embassy in Sweden stated on July 2 that a drone had dropped a container of red paint onto its embassy grounds in Stockholm. Later, a second drone landed on the same grounds carrying what the embassy described as a “simulated improvised explosive device.”

In a statement, the embassy said this latest detail indicates the incident is not merely a provocation but “a brazen attempt to intimidate staff at the Russian mission.” The embassy added, “We will say plainly: it won’t work.”

The embassy further noted that “such incidents have taken on a systematic character in Stockholm.” No information was provided on whether the drone operators were identified or if there were any injuries. The event occurs amid heightened tensions between Russia and Western countries.
