Russia's combat losses exceed 1.38 million, 1,260 casualties in past day – Ukrainian General Staff

The Russian military has suffered a total of 1,386,680 personnel casualties since the start of the full-scale invasion, with 1,260 added in the last day, according to Ukraine's General Staff.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported on June 17, 2026, that Russian forces had lost 1,260 soldiers killed and wounded in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of Russian personnel casualties since the start of the full-scale war on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,386,680.

In addition to personnel losses, the Russian military has suffered significant equipment losses. According to the report, Russia has lost 12,033 tanks, including seven in the past day. Armoured combat vehicle losses reached 24,775, with seven added. Artillery systems destroyed total 44,169, with 51 new losses reported. Multiple-launch rocket systems now total 1,874, with two added. Air defence systems stand at 1,427, with no change. Aircraft losses remain at 436, and helicopters at 353.

The report also notes losses of 1,677 ground robotic systems (plus 10), 355,593 operational-tactical UAVs (plus 2,052), and 4,783 cruise missiles (no change). Naval losses include 33 ships or boats and two submarines. Vehicle and fuel tanker losses amount to 107,994, with 486 added, while special vehicles and other equipment total 4,303, with three added.

The Ukrainian General Staff stated that the information is being confirmed.
