Russian losses in Ukraine exceed 1.4 million soldiers
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia has lost about 1,400,970 troops since the start of the war, including 1,250 in the past day alone.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated figures on Russian military losses since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022. As of June 28, 2026, total Russian personnel losses have reached 1,400,970, with 1,250 lost in the last 24 hours.
In addition to personnel, Russia has suffered significant equipment losses. According to the General Staff, 12,063 tanks (+3 in the last day), 24,844 armored personnel carriers (+9), 44,920 artillery systems (+63), 1,901 multiple rocket launchers (+2), and 1,454 air defense systems (+7) have been destroyed.
Furthermore, Russia has lost 1,754 ground robotic complexes (+14), 377,500 tactical UAVs (+1,889), 113,135 vehicles and fuel tankers (+501), and 4,360 units of special equipment (+7).
The data is compiled from Ukrainian military reports and has not been independently verified, but it indicates continued heavy fighting and substantial losses on the Russian side.
