BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton has released his predictions for the World Cup quarter-finals. After a strong round of 16 where he only missed Switzerland's penalty shootout win over Colombia, Sutton now selects the favourites.

France vs Morocco Sutton predicts a 2-1 win for France, despite Morocco's potential. He notes Morocco are a strong side but key forward Ismael Saibari's injury is a blow. France showed character against Paraguay, and Désiré Doué's impact off the bench highlights their depth. AI also predicts 2-1.

Spain vs Belgium Sutton expects Spain to dominate possession and win 3-0. He criticises Spain's attack against Portugal but says they cannot be as poor again. Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana's injury weakens their midfield. AI predicts 2-0.

Norway vs England Sutton foresees an exciting game with England winning 3-2. He praises Norway's Erling Haaland after his display against Brazil but believes England's attack with Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham will be too strong. AI predicts 2-1 to England.

Argentina vs Switzerland Sutton picks Argentina 2-1, acknowledging Switzerland's solid defence could make it close. He hopes for an Argentina-England semi-final and trusts Lionel Messi to deliver. AI predicts 2-0.

Overall, Sutton and AI both have 61 correct predictions out of 96 (64%), while BBC predictor game users lead with 68 (71%).
