FIBA-standard outdoor basketball court opened in Kuldīga
A full-size outdoor basketball court meeting FIBA standards has been opened in Kuldīga. Similar courts will be built in 25 other Latvian municipalities in the near future.
A new outdoor basketball court compliant with FIBA standards has been opened in Kuldīga. It is part of a broader initiative by the Latvian Basketball Association (LBS) in cooperation with local municipalities.
Full-size courts suitable for traditional basketball will be constructed in the following municipalities: Alūksne, Balvi, Bauska, Kuldīga, Raiskums, Daugavpils, Gulbene, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Jūrmala, Liepāja, Krāslava, Ķekava, Salacgrīva, Līvāni, Barkava, Mārupe, Ogre, Ulbroka, Salaspils, Saldus, Saulkrasti, Smiltene, Jaunpils, and Valmiera.
Half-courts designed for 3x3 basketball, but not for the traditional game, will be built in Kalngale and Carnikava.
