New Optio eyeglass store opens in Kuldīga

A new optical store, Optio, has opened in Kuldīga at Liepājas iela 14. Customers can purchase glasses and sunglasses, as well as have their eyes examined by optometrist Kristīne Stukule, who prescribes eyeglass prescriptions.

Retail director Nataļja Karpušina said the company had long wanted to open a location in Kuldīga but had struggled to find suitable premises. She noted that the store is beautiful and the team is wonderful, so the company is very satisfied with the outcome.

Previously, the nearest Optio outlets were in Saldus and Talsi, with other stores across Latvia. Kuldīga already has optical salons Metropole and Optika M on Liepājas iela, as well as Redzes telpa on Piltenes iela.

Store manager Estere Gorsvāne emphasized that competition drives improvement. She highlighted the store's special offer: a social responsibility program for children providing a €65 discount on the entire eyeglass order once a year. Additionally, they focus on myopia (nearsightedness) control, checking every six months. Special myopia control eyeglass lenses can also be ordered.

According to Gorsvāne, customers currently prefer either delicate, almost invisible frames or, conversely, bold, large ones. She believes fashion is about what suits and pleases the individual, not necessarily following trends.
