Driver killed after BMW hits tree in Kuldīga municipality

A serious road accident took place on Friday in Kabile parish, Kuldīga municipality, on the Tukums–Kuldīga road. A BMW passenger car left the road and hit a tree. The driver suffered fatal injuries, and a passenger was also hurt.
Call-out and casualties
The State Police report that the call about the incident was received at around 3 p.m. In the collision, the BMW driver sustained fatal injuries and died. The passenger was taken to hospital, where she received the necessary medical care.
Investigation and traffic
The reason the car left the road and crashed into a tree is not yet known. The State Police are continuing to establish the circumstances of the accident.
Emergency services are working at the scene. One traffic lane is blocked, so travel on this section of road may be hindered.
