Culture Ministry proposes unified organizational model for Song and Dance Celebration
On July 21, the Ministry of Culture presented two options to a parliamentary committee to unify the organizational models of the general and school youth Song and Dance Celebrations, promising to preserve traditions.

At a meeting of the responsible parliamentary committee on July 21, the Ministry of Culture outlined two possible ways to create a unified organizational model for the Song and Dance Celebration. Currently, there are two separate models: one for the General Latvian Song and Dance Celebration and another for the School Youth Song and Dance Celebration. The new solution would merge them into a single framework to streamline management. The ministry emphasized that despite any organizational changes, the content and cherished Latvian traditions would remain unchanged. The choice of model has not yet been made, and the committee will continue discussions. The unified model is expected to apply to both the adult and school youth celebrations, ensuring a consistent approach. The Ministry of Culture stated that further consultations with stakeholders will take place before a final decision.
