Kurucs dishes five assists, but Baskonia lose to Besiktas in EuroLeague
Latvian basketball player Rodions Kurucs recorded five assists for Baskonia, but the Vitoria club lost 84-92 to Istanbul's Besiktas in Round 4 of the EuroLeague.

In Round 4 of the EuroLeague, Europe's top club basketball competition, Spain's Baskonia lost 84-92 at home to Besiktas of Istanbul. The game was played on 9 October. The defeat leaves Baskonia 19th in the standings with one win in three games.
Latvian forward Kurucs spent 21 minutes and 38 seconds on court. He scored five points, grabbed three rebounds and handed out five assists, sharing the team's best assist total with Kobi Simons. Kurucs also committed three fouls, and his plus-minus rating was +7.
Baskonia's top scorer was Chris Duarte with 23 points. Kenneth Faried, a former NBA player and 2014 world champion, added 10. For Besiktas, Scottie Wilbekin led the way with 24 points.

Kaunas club Zalgiris won 88-81 away at Barcelona. The Lithuanian side's top scorer was Carsen Edwards with 19 points; he was recently penalised for drink driving. In the opening game of the day, Olympiacos of Piraeus beat Anadolu Efes of Istanbul 89-66 at home. Every Olympiacos player on the roster scored, with Jean Montero the top scorer on 16 points. Efes were led by Cameron Payne with 12.
Panathinaikos of Athens and Valencia top the standings, both with four wins from four games.
