The Transport Administration (ATD) has announced changes to several regional bus routes in Kurzeme effective Wednesday, July 1. The adjustments affect three routes: Ventspils–Ziras, Liepāja–Ventspils, and Rīga–Tukums–Talsi–Ventspils.
Ventspils–Ziras
On the Ventspils–Ziras route, the early morning departure from Ventspils bus station (Monday to Saturday) will start 10 minutes later, at 6:10 AM. On the return trip, the bus departing Ziras at 6:45 AM will stop at changed times at intermediate stops and will arrive at Ventspils bus station 11 minutes earlier, at 7:25 AM.
Liepāja–Ventspils
On the Liepāja–Ventspils route, several trips will now include the stop “Ploce”, located in Vērgale parish, Dienvidkurzeme municipality, on highway Ventspils–Grobiņa (P111). This will provide easier access to Liepāja and Ventspils for local residents. The affected departures are from Liepāja bus station at 11:40 AM and 8:15 PM, and from Ventspils bus station at 5:30 PM and 8:30 AM.
Rīga–Tukums–Talsi–Ventspils
On the Rīga–Tukums–Talsi–Ventspils route, the morning bus departing Ventspils bus station at 9:50 AM will travel faster, resulting in adjusted stop times and an arrival at Rīga International Bus Station 35 minutes earlier, at 1:30 PM.
Regional public transport services on these routes are provided by the municipal company SIA “Ventspils reiss”. The ATD coordinated the changes with the Kurzeme and Rīga planning regions.
