Kurzemnieks Opens Newspaper Subscriptions for the Coming Year
The newspaper Kurzemnieks is inviting readers to subscribe for next year, noting that a full-year subscription placed by 25 October is cheaper. Subscriptions can be made at the editorial office, the post, online or by phone.
The editors of the regional newspaper Kurzemnieks report that subscriptions for next year have been open since 1 October. They advise readers not to leave it until the last moment, because ordering the paper for the whole year by 25 October is financially more advantageous.
Calendar as a gift
As in previous years, the new Kurzemnieks calendar will be given to every subscriber, regardless of how early the subscription is arranged.
How to subscribe
Several options are available:
- at the editorial office, with no commission fee;
- through postal carriers or at a post office, where a fee for issuing the receipt applies;
- online at www.abone.lv or on the newspaper's portal www.kurzemnieks.lv in the Abonē section;
- by calling Latvijas Pasts on 27008001, an option that remains available until 17 December.
On the portal readers can choose an e-edition or the printed paper. The e-edition can be read on a computer and in the Kurzemnieks smartphone app, and it comes with a digital archive of all earlier issues. The printed paper is delivered to the mailbox and includes the e-edition as well. Those choosing print can also indicate whether a TV guide should be added on Fridays.
What the paper offers
The editors say the content created by their journalists cannot be found elsewhere, as information is gathered and processed specifically for local readers' needs. The paper has published, and will continue to publish, in-depth investigations, discussions, opinion pieces and expert explanations on issues that matter to residents of the region. Its pages include news from the local government, police reports, travel notes, long interviews with interesting people and differing views on problems in the region.
Podcast
Since early summer the publication has offered the podcast Kurzemnieks runā par aktuālām tēmām. It can be watched and listened to free of charge on the Kurzemnieks.lv portal, as well as on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The paper is also present on Instagram, Facebook and X.
