In a match of the Latvian futsal Virslīga, the top domestic league, Riga-based Beitar Riga defeated Salaspils FA 11:1 (4:0 at half-time). Team captain Dmitrijs Kuzmins scored four goals in the final 12 minutes, in the 29th, 36th and twice in the 40th minute. The result topped Beitar's earlier run: before the international break the club had won three consecutive games 9:2, and Kuzmins scored a hat-trick in each of them.

Scorers and standings

Besides Kuzmins, goals for Beitar came from Rimkus, Bērziņš, Reuts, Itkačs, Grava, Grīslis and Ģēģers. Stasjonoks scored Salaspils FA's only goal. After five matches Beitar have five wins, a goal difference of 41:7 and 15 points, and lead the table. Kuzmins tops the scorers' list with 14 goals.

Champions League

On Wednesday Beitar make their Champions League debut in Belgium against Almaty's Kairat, and on Thursday they face Anderlecht, represented by Edgars Tarakanovs. The Latvian side entered the competition because Riga broke up. The break-up of Romanian champions Galați United means Beitar are already guaranteed at least third place in their group and a spot in the round of 16.
