Quiz challenge: Can you recognize Laima chocolates from a tiny package fragment?

In Latvia, it is hard to come across a person who has never tasted a Laima chocolate. But identifying exactly which candy is shown when only a tiny fragment of the packaging is visible is a much rarer skill. The news portal LA.LV, associated with the newspaper Latvijas Avīze, has decided to put its readers to the test.

The quiz comes with a bold promise: if you are a Latvian, you should be able to identify at least 80 per cent of Laima chocolates from a small fragment. The test contains ten questions, each showing a fragment of a candy package and asking the participant to choose the correct product name.

The first question asks about a specific candy, offering three possible names: Vāvere, Vāverīte and Maska. This makes the quiz not only a test of taste-related memory but also of visual recognition and attention to detail. If the answer seems obvious, it may mean that not only the flavor but also the visual image of the candy has stayed in the memory.

According to the quiz, many people may remember the taste of these sweets, but only a few can tell them apart by a small piece of the wrapper. The quiz is meant to be a light-hearted challenge, inviting readers to see whether they belong to that rare category of people who can recognize a Laima candy from just a fragment.
