Weather forecast for the new work week: heat to subside, rain and thunderstorms expected
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the heat will gradually recede during the new work week, with more frequent rain and cooler weather in the second half of the week. Early in the week, it will still be warm with a high UV index.

The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has issued a weather forecast for the upcoming work week starting June 28. The heat wave will gradually subside, while the latter part of the week will bring more precipitation and thunderstorms.
On Monday night, the sky will be partly cloudy, with light brief rain in some western areas. The day will be mostly clear and dry, with light winds. Night temperatures will range from +17°C to +21°C, with a possible tropical night in central regions. Daytime temperatures will reach +27°C to +32°C, but the coast will be cooler at +22°C to +26°C. The UV index will be high.
Tuesday will see a cloud zone moving in from the west, bringing brief rain and thunderstorms with heavy downpours in places. Winds will be light, and fog may form in some areas overnight. Night temperatures: +16°C to +21°C; daytime: +23°C to +28°C, slightly cooler along the coast.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy, with increasing cloudiness from the afternoon and rain expected in western and central regions. Night will bring fog in some western areas. Night temperatures drop to +13°C to +16°C, while daytime will reach +24°C to +29°C, though the coast and parts of Kurzeme will be cooler at +18°C to +23°C.
In the second half of the week, the influence of cyclones will strengthen, leading to more frequent cloud cover and widespread precipitation, including thunderstorms. The weather will turn cooler: by the weekend, temperatures in most of the country will not exceed +20°C during the day.
