Contemporary Dance Festival ‘Horos’ Arrives in Riga for the First Time
On July 30-31, the contemporary dance festival ‘Horos’ will take place in Riga for the first time, having previously been held in Aizpute. The program includes performances and free masterclasses on July 29.
The contemporary dance festival ‘Horos’ is making its debut in Riga, moving from its previous location in Aizpute. Scheduled for July 30 and 31, the event features performances by local and international artists. On the evening of July 29, free masterclasses will be open to anyone interested.
Curators Krišjānis Sants and Ieva Gaurilčikaite-Sants explained on Latvijas Radio’s ‘Kultūras rondo’ program that the festival is designed not only for dance professionals but also for those who do not usually engage with dance. The main goal is to show that anyone can dance, not just on stage.
The program includes a variety of performances showcasing the diversity of contemporary dance. Organizers hope the festival will attract a wide audience and become a significant event in Riga’s cultural scene.
