Lakers acquire Walker Kessler in trade with Jazz

The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired center Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz, sending two unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps.

According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, the Lakers and Jazz completed a trade that brings the 24-year-old center to Los Angeles. In return, the Jazz receive unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, as well as the right to swap first-round picks in 2028 and 2030. Kessler will sign a four-year, $130 million contract with the Lakers, including a player option on the final year. Last season, Kessler appeared in only five games due to injury, averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. Over his career, he has averaged 9.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 2.4 blocks in 201 games.
