Lando Norris extends McLaren contract until 2030
Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has signed a new contract with McLaren that will keep him with the team until 2030. Over the next four years, the Briton is set to earn around 140 million euros.
British Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has agreed to extend his contract with McLaren, tying his future to the team until 2030, the team has announced.
According to available information, over the next four years the 26-year-old driver is expected to receive approximately 120 million British pounds under the new deal, equivalent to roughly 140 million euros.
Last season's triumph
Norris became world champion last season, securing McLaren's first title since 2008. It marked a major milestone for a team that had waited years to return to the top of the sport.
Current season standings
With 11 rounds remaining before the end of the season, Norris currently sits second in the championship standings, trailing leader Kimi Antonelli by 83 points.
A long-standing partnership
Norris joined the McLaren program at the age of 17, initially serving as a test and reserve driver before becoming a full-time race driver. He is currently competing in his eighth Formula 1 season, and under the new contract he will have spent at least 12 seasons with the team without ever switching. Although other teams have reportedly shown interest in signing him, Norris has repeatedly stated his wish to continue his career with McLaren.
