Lasmanis/Pastars Secure Three Wins at U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship
Latvian duo Lasmanis/Pastars have won all three group matches at the U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship in The Hague, defeating opponents from Venezuela, Argentina, and Hungary.
The U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship is taking place in The Hague, Netherlands. The Latvian pair, seeded 13th in the tournament, played three Group D matches and won all of them in straight sets.
In their first match, they beat Argentina's Osatinsky/Cornejo (20th seed) 21:18, 21:19. Next, they defeated Hungarians Szuth/Kiss-Bertok (29th seed) 21:16, 21:14. In the final group match, Lasmanis/Pastars defeated Venezuela's Hernández-Pérez/Gameho-Guerra (4th seed) 21:18, 21:16.
In the women's tournament, the Latvian duo Paula Krieva and Estere Zaķīte (26th seed) also recorded three victories in Group G. They beat Canada (7th seed) 21:9, 21:19, Venezuela (10th seed) 22:20, 25:23, and Kazakhstan (23rd seed) 21:14, 21:15.
The championship in The Hague will conclude on Sunday.
