Lasnamäe Days to close with Tanel Padar and Mahavok concert

Tallinn's Lasnamäe district is set to mark its 33rd birthday with a week-long programme from August 23 to 30. The festivities will end on Sunday, August 30, with a big concert at Pae Park, where Tanel Padar and the band Mahavok will take the stage, according to the district government's press office.

The celebration begins with Trampoline Day on August 23 from 11:00 to 20:00 at Tondiloo Park. Free trampolines will be available for children of different age groups.

During the week, residents and visitors can join walking and bus tours to discover the district's history, local institutions and lesser-known chapters of its past. Trips include visits to the Tallinn range lighthouses and the Circular Economy Centre, as well as stories about the Iru stronghold, the Sikupilli neighbourhood and the work of the Lasnamäe rescue team. On August 29, Pae Park will host a family evening as part of the Night of Ancient Lights. Based on the artistic concept “Water Carries Light” developed by Eesti Valgus Agentuur, the Pae pond will become the centrepiece of the show rather than just a concert venue. Fountains, light installations and visual projections on water screens will start at 19:30, followed by a concert at 21:00. The main act of the evening will be DAGÖ, who perform at 21:45.

The highlight comes on Sunday, August 30, with the grand closing concert. Tanel Padar takes the stage at 19:30 and Mahavok follow at 21:45, with a water-and-light show accompanying the programme.

Padar, who performed “Everybody” with Dave Benton, won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001. Another well-known Padar track is “Welcome to Estonia”. Pop-rock band Mahavok has been around since 1981, with popular songs including “Meridiaanid”, “Kaugel maal”, “Kus valgus” and “Mägede hääl”.
