Early May saw multiple drone-related incidents in Latvia's Latgale region. A resident recounted waking up in the countryside on May 7 to a yellow warning, having heard nothing during the night. Later, while in the city, she was awakened by an orange warning about a fire at an oil reservoir in Rēzekne. Public media journalists provided information more quickly than the responsible authorities. Friends and acquaintances called, and she heard reproaches that locals were to blame and that the region looked like Russia. She felt bitter, repeating to herself that the state is us.
